On 26th April 1970 the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) was born and in 2000 the WIPO Member States decided to celebrate this birthday each year as World Intellectual Property Day. The aim was to raise awareness of the role of intellectual property in our daily lives, and to celebrate the contribution made by innovators and artists to the development of societies across the globe.A lot of Member States organise activities.
