HF - Washington. On February 9, 2006, Amtsgericht Charlottenburg, a Berlin civil court,
set aside the
temporary restraining order against the German Wikimedia association, docket number
218 C 1001/06, dated January 17, 2006.
The court decided that the petitioners, parents of a deceased son whom they did not want mentioned in Wikipedia,
may not require the respondent to refrain from mentioning
the applicants sons name on the Internet. The court noted that such a publication does not constitute
an infringement of the sons postmortem personal rights.
