US.Office of Foreign Assets Control – Schwarze Liste!

Gemäß eigenem Mission Statement definiert sich das OFAC, eine Abteilung des Department of Treasury, wie folgt: ” The Office of Foreign Assets Control administers a series of laws that impose economic sanctions against hostile targets to further U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives.” Böse Zungen würden auch sagen “ein verlängerter Arm des Weltpolizisten USA”, um seine Auslandspolitik auch auf wirtschaftlichem Wege durchzusetzen.

Wer einerseits mit den nachfolgenden Ländern Geschäftsbeziehungen unterhält, andererseits aber zum Beispiel eine Niederlassung in den USA unterhält, ist gut beraten, sich darüber zu erkundigen, ob dies auch Sanktionen gegen sein Unternehmen, sei es in den USA oder in Deutschland, auslösen kann.
