One of the best parts about having my own ‘department’ at the law school is having a budget to spend on books. Yesterday, I ordered the new Dietl/Lorenz GermanEnglish legal dictionaries (with CD) for my department’s reference library - it is going to cost a whopping €398! It’ll probably be there tomorrow, but I won’t - so I guess I have something to look forward to on Monday.
I also would have ordered the second volume to Prof. Dr. B. Sharon Byrd’s excellent “Introduction to Anglo-American Law & Language,” but the publishing house C.H. Beck has yet to release the new edition, so I’ll wait. My (personal) copy was stolen from my classroom at the university last semester, after I stupidly left it unattended for a few minutes. I …
