The EU's Regulatory Hydra: Hercules Needed

Another recommended article in today's Tech Central Station about our (because that's what it is or should be) European Union. Hans H.J. Labohm, a senior visiting fellow at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations, known as 'Clingendael', writes about the recent announcement of the European Commission to cut red tape, eliminating unnecessarily burdensome laws. His view on the EU attempt to cut red tape is rather pessimistic but the analysis is worthwhile reading. Mr. Labohm also emphasises that: "Earlier attempts to deregulate were a boulevard of broken dreams. Will it be different this time? Unfortunately, it does not look that way.
