Yesterday, in our post on the copyright flap between J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter Lexicon, we noted that in December
“Stanford Law School’s Anthony Falzone — a former Bingham McCutchen litigator and the heir apparent to Lawrence Lessig’s Fair Use Project — agreed to help”
the defendant in the suit.
Huh? Lessig (pictured), the man who spent the last decade arguing against what he sees an overly-protective copyright regime, is no longer leading the Fair Use Project? It turns out that the news of his move has been out there for a while. Lessig is now planning to focus on what he describes as eliminating the corroding influence of money in politics.
Always game to talk politics these days, we caught up with Lessig to ask him about his move, the campaign and how high-profile law professors can change lives and influence people. (…)
