German Court Bans Cannibal Film Rohtenburg

A German court has forbidden the German-American film Rohtenburg about cannibalism. The court upheld a complaint from self-confessed cannibal Armin Meiwes. The film was due for release in Germany on 9 March. The court granted an interim measure, similar to a cease and desist order, (einstweilige Verfügung) on the basis that Meiwes personal right as an individual outweighed artistic freedom and that he should not become the object of a real horror film.
