Now as far as college debt goes, that's not too bad. But it's way too much by Allen's standards. Three years of law school at UNC will cost about $105,000. She doesn't want to start her career with that kind of debt. She has become a fervent believer in the teachings of radio host Dave Ramsey, who promotes a debt-free life for financial peace. So this time, Allen is trying something different - a more public effort. First up, she has submitted a video to Upromise's "Tuition Tales" contest. The higher-education savings company Upromise released its top 10 finalists in a $10,000 Tuition Tales contest Wednesday, but would-be law student Sarah Allen was not among them.
