eu Domain Name: Be Aware of Multiple Queues Models

Some companies are offering registration for .eu domain names as a non-EURid accredited registrar and advertise that they dont need to respect the first come first served requirement imposed by EURid. EURid has recently issued a statement on its website saying that it has recently received several complaints about various forms of queues that are being offered by registrars.
It is currently looking into these cases and examining whether these models comply with the EC regulations. If, from a legal point of view, a model is not allowed, EURid will take all necessary measures. At the same EURid confirms that it has no legal power to act against the non-accredited registrars.
On the other hand, EURid can of course take legal action towards
accredited registrars on the basis of the contract made with those registrars and the Important notice concerning the collaboration with intermediaries and agents. As …
