The German Institution for Arbitration’s Autumn Conference is coming up soon, on September 28, 2016, in Berlin. DIS 40, the German Young Arbitrators’ Club for those under 40 or prepared to lie about their age, is hosting its event the day before, on Art and Dispute Resolution. Here is from their invite:

“Various art-related disputes have made headlines these past few years: We read about the dispute between Greece and the United Kingdom with regard to the Parthenon Marbles in the British Museum or about a wide array of legal actions initiated by the Russian art collector Dmitry Rybolovlev against the art dealer Yves Bouvier following a sale of a painting made by Amedeo Modigliani and Rybolovlev accusing the art dealer of pocketing millions in secret profits from multiple art sales to Rybolovlev. We followed the news as a crew of graffiti artists initiated legal actions against Roberto Cavalli for copyright infringement, unfair competition and false designation of origin in a string of cases involving alleged misappropriation of street art. Less than two months ago, Tuesday Bassen, an independent artist based in Los Angeles, accused the fast-fashion giant brand Zara of copying her designs ...
